This summer of 2020 sparked a social upheaval in our Minneapolis community, and indeed around the world, resulting from the death of George Floyd . . . the injustice, the oppression, the lack of compassion, the marginalizing and discrimination of people of color, the piling on of the heartbreak of too many mothers mourning their sons and daughters, and we weep with them.
In the midst of wondering, "what can I do?" I started drawing, to help process my thoughts, and I meditated on the words, "Change Begins with Me" . . . and that is how this piece came to be. My hope is that you will use this ornament and bookmark to encourage a friend, or as inspiration on your own journey toward change.
